When it comes to music production, Akai has dominated the industry with the MPC line.
It's official! Def Jef sound sets courtesy of OneStop Beats will be included with the new MPC 1000. This will be Akai's first collaboration with a true Hip Hop producer like Def Jef.
The MPC 1000 is the talk of the town with promises to maintain Akai's strong reputation.
We've placed an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper over the MPC 1000 to show off its portable size. The MPC 1000 is a solid machine that weighs almost 8 pounds.. The blue coat paint job will appear on all Akai MPC series. Why not paint the machines red? For those who don't know, Akai stands for the color red.
The release date is set for late October or early November. The Actual street date will be early to mid December 2003. The first 1000 customers will receive a FREE MPC 1000 gig bag. Retail price is $999

With the MPC 1000 being portable, the #1 question was
Does it come with a battery? Unfortunately the MPC 1000 requires too much power to run on a battery.
Is the MPC 1000 compatible with other MPC series? Compatibility information can be found on the akai web site. The MPC 1000 will allow you to use multiple programs in 1 song like the MPC 4000. You can assign different programs on different tracks.
Can you connect your computer to the MPC 1000? Yes you can connect your MPC 1000 to your computer via USB and drag and drop files between the desktop and MPC compact flash. You can use the same Smart Media Cards that digital cameras use.
