K-DEF is one of Hip Hop's living legends behind the boards.  He is well known for crafting classic Hit records under Marley Marl's House Of Hits.
This album proves that K-DEF has beats for days.  Their are some joints that K-DEF showed his Blackploitation Ass.  The album is definitely East Coast with a few jewels that would accomodate some of every body in every region of the Hip Hop globe.  Check the K-Def interview.
K-DEF- Willie Boo Boo- The Fool (Instrumental Album)
Jay Dee- The Shining
Ayatollah- Listen  (Instrumental Album)
Large Professor- BEATZ Vol 1  (Instrumental Album)
BOOT CAMP CLIK- The Last Stand
The late & Great Jay Dee/J Dilla left his sonic markings on The Shining.  Shout outs to Karriem Riggins for contributing quality control.  J Dilla's DONUTS displayed a skill level of sampled-based art that was unmatched.  The Shining displays J Dilla's range of sonic manipulation.  Check for "Baby", "Body Moving" & "Love"
You'll have to Listen to this album with an open mind and you'll catch his bounce on the 2nd or 3rd Listen.  Ayatollah is one of New York's finest on production and we grew to enjoy joints like "Loves Ghetto", "The Proud" and his chop shop skills on "Heavenly Father".  "Listen" requires you to do just that before writing it off as a dud.
Large Professor is a hard act to follow when it comes to his double duty on both beats and rhymes.  He is well known as the founding member of classic rap group Main Source and was instrumental for the birth of legendary rapper NAS.  BEATSZ Vol 1  includes one of Extra P's certified classics entitled "Still Hangin' Out".  Other notable joints on BEATZ Vol 1 are "Secret Agent" & "Pun Tres Leches".
The BOOT CAMP CLIK have been NYC's underground super team for years.  Surprisingly Da Beatminerz only produced 1 track (But The Game Is Still Tha Same) on The Last Stand.  Pete Rock, Large Professor & 9th Wonder contributed some bangers but it was Marco Polo who showcased the best production on the album with the Hottest track called "Yeah".  Shouts to Sic Beats on their first professional debut on The Last Stand.
PHARRELL- In My Mind
"In My Mind" showcases Pharrell's production & writing skills on a Top 40 level.  The album is a creative effort that sounds even better in Instrumental.  Pharrell is a true artist and innovator.  His music is dope.  "Raspy Shit", "You Can Do It Too", & "How Does It Feel" illustrate his range in various frequencies.  Again, the Instrumental version of "In My Mind" is official and you'll grow to appreciate this Super producer's out look on music.
Sonny Carson & Reefa Present..  The Brooklyn Mint Mix Tape/DVD
Brooklyn has been NYC's largest borough since the 1920s.  Producers Sonny Carson & Reefa are attempting to carry the borough's legacy with original songs and remixes from The Notorious BIG, Fabolous, Red Cafe, Maino, Joell Ortiz, & more.  The DVD includes footage of the project in it's infant stages.  The Brooklyn Mint project is a solid debut of street joints & team work.
HI-TEK delivered a certified Banger with his sophomore album.  This album also includes a DVD that captures behind the scene shots of Hi-Tek in the studio and interview footage.
Super artists like Q-Tip, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Nas, Common, Busta Rhymes, Jada Kiss, Papoose, Raekwon, Kurupt, Bun B, Devin The Dude, Ghost Face Killah,
Marsha Ambrosious, J Dilla and Talib Kweli provide lyrical supply over Hi-Tek tracks.
Support one of the best producers in the game doing it.

The ROOTS - GAME THEORY
The ROOTS is Hip Hop's #1 Band.  GAME THEORY is their 9th studio album & first release under Hip Hop's #1 label Def Jam.  Many may not appreciate the creative skill level it took to achieve such sonic excellence.  Joints like "False Media", "Take It There", Clock With No Hands", "Atonement" & "Can't Stop This" are potent examples of The Roots at their best.  Jay Dilla produced "Can't Stop This" from his hospital bed.
